- Visual Building for Exhibitors

Visual Building is not just a useful software tool for the architect, builder or home owner, but also for companies that supply goods and services to the home construction and furnishing sector. Although these users form the core of Visual Building users, there are many manufacturers that are also benifiting from using Visual Building for the presentation and marketing of their products.

Here are some examples of how you as a manufacturer could be using Visual Building:

Exploded 3D view of house

Window and Door Manufactuers

Visual Building Premium includes the Window Construction tool which will allow you to provide your windows and door styles as 3D models.

These models can be provided free to all other Visual Building users. The models can be associated with your company / brand, so that any user that uses your model can easily identify its source, price and availability.

Building according to terrain

Tile and Brick Manufactuers

Draw your plot, adding terrain and slopes as required. Now draw out the external walls, and then play arround with the internal wall layout, adding doors and windows. You can then place your building within the plot, adjusting its position and facing relative to the terrain and adjacent buildings.

This screenshot shows how you can define a sloping terrain and plan how your building will interact with the terrain using multiple levels.

3D Visualisation

Kitchen Suppliers

You know what you want, but how do you communicate those ideas to your architect? Visual Building will allow you to provide your architect with good technical plans and a 3D visualisation. This can save you a lot of time and money.

Planning applications

Interior Designers

Visual Building can produce plans required to support a planning application. We always recommend that you use an architect, but if you believe you have the necessary skills and experience, then Visual Building will help you fulfill your objectives.

This screenshot shows the new optional Ribbon bar user interface, which makes Visual Building more intuitive to use. Visual Building Professional was used to provide the multiple view layout for this project.

3D visualisation of DWG drawing

Architectural Services

You create everything in the 2D plan and Visual Building will automatically create the 3D model. If you have drawings in DXF or DWG format, you can import these into Visual Building Professional, which will allow you to use it as a template to create your 3D model. Its surprising how some features that look OK in a 2D plan, become less attractive when viewed as a 3D model.

You can also import scanned plans, and use them as a template to trace your floor plan arround.

3D Visualisation of DWG drawing

Furniture Manufacturers

Draw your plot. Create your building outlines and place. You can examine the effect of light and shadow created by each building, work out access and services and then move it all until you have the optimum plan.

Thos screenshot shows a project that includes buildings also created as seperate projects. You can  import and place different buildings or the same building multiple times to quickly create a plot layout.

kitchen interior design

Energy Consultants

You can plan out your kitchen, bathroom or any room you need. Will the furniture fit? What will it look like? Visual Building will help you answer all of these questions.

This screenshot uses the 3D Kitchen 2 catalogue, although there are many kitchen furniture options in the standard catalogue.

Conservatory

Solar Panel  Installers

Using either a photo or a 3D model of your house, you can view how a prospective conservatory or an extension will appear. You can even examine the effects of sun and shade at different times of the year, upon your existing property or your neighbour's property.

This screenshot shows a conservatory built with Visual Building. There is a catalogue of standard conservatory styles.

Unless otherwise stated all the above example projects were created with Visual Building Basic.

Visual Building is suitable for many different users with many different tasks, but all share a common feature- to create a 2D floor plan for a building, and then automatically view that 2D floor plan as a 3D model.

It is because Visual Building is a CAD program dedicated to buildings, that it is more intuitive to use than other generic CAD software. We have spent the last 20 years developing software for self-builders, architects and builders and so understand exactly what software you need. (see our history).

Here are some examples of how architects and builders are using Visual Building:

I need to communicate my designs to my clients

Not all clients will be able to fully understand a 2D plan, but they will be able to understand a 3D visuallisation. Visual Building will allow you to provide your client with good technical 2D plans and a 3D visualisation. This can save you a lot of time and and your client a lot money by ensuring that the 2D plan represents exactly what your client requires.

You can create plans for new builds, renovations, extensions and conservatories. You can then use those same plans to support the planning application.

Better presentations will also improve your ability to win new work.

Visual Building Marketing

Manufacturwers and suppliers can now include their products into Visual Building. If you have a product that you would like thousands of Visual Building users to see in their house (or any building) design then please read the following pdf file.

If the pdf page below does not display correctly, please press the F5 key, refresh your browser or alternatively click this link to download the pdf file.

You will need Adobe Reader to read this.

Marketing: Product Association (2D)

If you cannot or do not wish to include an actual product texture in our catalogue, you can adopt or sponsor one of our standard textures. This texture should be a close representation of your product that you wish to promote.

Marketing: Product Inclusion (2D)

The marketing program is more attractive to companies that wish to market products that are more defined by their texture appearance, for example carpets, floor tiles, wall tiles, bricks, roof tiles etc.
Here are some example marketing ideas:

Carpet Manufacturers
Tile Manufacturers
Brick Manufacturers
Sign Manufacturers / Distributors: See Safety Signs Online as an example

Marketing: Product Association (3D)

If you cannot or do not wish to include an actual product in our catalogue, you can adopt or sponsor one of our standard objects. This object should be a close representation of your product that you wish to promote.

Marketing Product Inclusion (3D)

You can include a 3D representation of your products that will allow Visual Building users to evaluate how your product will look within their project. This will require your product to be supplied as a 3D object. This is normally in the form of a 3ds file. If you already have your product as a .3ds file then we can add this to our catalogue. We can create your product as a .3ds object but the cost to achieve this varies, for example a simple table is easier to create than a sofa. If you can supply your product in .dxf format then the development costs are greatly reduced.

Here are some example marketing ideas:
Door Manufacturers
Window Manufacturers
Furniture Manufacturers

Product Inclusion Program

This marketing program enables you to include your product details in several different ways, depending upon the type of product you wish to market.

Product Inclusion (3D) For furniture, doors, windows and most construction items. If you have or wish to use your own 3D objects.

Product Asscociation (2D) For carpets, tiles, bricks and other textured surfaces. If you do not have your own textures and wish to associate your product with an existing generic texture.

Product Asscociation (3D) For furniture, doors, windows and most construction items. If you do not have your own objects and wish to associate your product with an existing generic object.

This concept of advertising is not new and is now a huge growth market within the consumer entertainment industry. However unlike "In game advertising" (IGA), our advertising is entirely passive, i.e. the user of Visual Building is not distracted by constant advertising. Our concept is that the advertising content, especially for products, is an additional bonus to the user as he is assured that the products he is using in his design exist, are available and are affordable. Additional product information such as dimensions, colours, weight, availability and cost are instantly available via the built in internet link.

Service Inclusion Program

For a limited period, all professionals purchasing Visual Building will be entitled to a FREE advertising entry in our Service Inclusion Program. This will be of benefit to you and all users of Visual Building.

This program enables you to include your services and products to all users of Visual Building. This is of interest to many disciplines and suppliers involved within the construction industry, and beyond. The database can be searched by professional category, function and location. There is an opportunity to include your company logo together with your complete contact details, email and web site link. We are also including support sites and information sites that we feel are a benefit to Visual Building users.
