Sadly, I can't get the 2D option to offer itself on either this or a completely new project... jpg attached

You will only get that if you click on the General button, instead of the Layer button in the first dialog.

Could you also try on a new project or example project.

Here are the steps. Click on the buttons indicated in red:

1. Double click on the wall to activate this dialog:

2. Double click on the Layer construction button, which will activate this next dialog:

3. Double click on the Material button which will activate this dialog:

4. Double click on the 2D Display button

Hi, all resolved on the original query, thank you, but I am still puzzled about your documentation section 19.6.6, changing fill patterns in wall layers. You seem to have a dialogue box open headed 'Building Materials', but I can't get there through the Wall layer construction dialogue box - using the Visual Building 5.2 version.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks for the rapid reply - i have been up since 03.30 making good progress using the dropdown. There is another problem though, where the layer thickness can revert to the previous setting - possibly as layers are switched, but certainly seen when returning to that layer. One of those pesky intermittent problems..... ;-)

Anyway, good progress, and this is not confined to walls - it also happens on floors/ceilings.
