Right click on 2D view, and select Visibility from context menu.
Then switch off anything you don’t want to see. In this case the roof elements. Each view has its own visibility settings.

Alternatively in the Professional and Premium versions, there is a Hide Roof construction icon in the Quick Access icon bar. The 2D view must be the current selected view for this to take effect.

I am drawing plans to convert the pitched roof into a second floor with dormer windows and a rear extension but as explained I am struggling to show the floor layout of the existing bungalow without showing the roof trusses.
