The floor area calculation for a room is automatic.

Room Area:

In the 2D view select the room that you are interested in and right click to activate the context menu, and select Properties:
This will display the Room Properties dialog, where you can select Labelling in the tree view. You can now select to show the room Area.

And the room area is displayed.
The ability to show Room Area is applicable to all versions of Visual Building.

The Professional, Premium and Solar Designer versions also has the ability to produce a report showing showing the room area for all rooms and floors, and the calculations. This is achieved using the Quantities tab

is there anyway of calculating the square meterage area of a room, floor or building.from a drawing that has been created in Visual Building Solar.
