Steps Recorder is a Windows support tool used to record actions taken by a user on their computer to demonstrate a problem. The recorded steps information can then be sent to the support person by email.
It is a Microsoft tool distributed with Windows 7 / 8.1 so you already have this installed.
If you have a problem, Visual Building's support team may ask you to record the steps taken to create the problem. PSR will record every key press and menu selection, with the resulting screen shot and any comments that you can add at each step. This information is then saved in a .zip file which you can then email to support, so that we can identify what the problem is.
PSR does not run in the background and does not collect or send information to anyone automatically- you have control in starting and stopping the program and the sending the recoreded file.
