Chalet style roof and 1st floor within 31 Oct 2013 12:12 #1011

To create such a simple project, I would introduce you to the Project Wizard. (in the file menu).

Project Wizard Step 1: Ignore
Project Wizard Step 2: Select Rectangle
Project Wizard Step 3: Enter L1 and L2 dimensions, Wall thickness, Floor height

Project Wizard Step 4: Do not create a new floor
Project Wizard Step 5: Select Gable roof and set pitch

Finish

Place new building in project, and edit to complete. You just need to add doors windows, internal structure , balcony and gable window.

You can of course now extend the external walls to suit the actual style that you have in your images.

Using the Project Wizard allows you to quickly experiment with the effects of placing a roof on ground floor walls, or creating a new floor and adding roof to that.

Hi,
I'm about to start on a project which is a detached house, with chalet style roof, basically sitting on the ground floor walls. i'm unsure as to how to proceed with installing the first floor, which sits in the gabled ended chalet roof, and then install dormers which for the stair well and bedroom.

can you give me an idea as how to start this to get he roof and 1st floor to gel please.

i've attached two pictures to aid my description.
