TOPIC:

You possibly have Standard view mode set, a view mode where there are no shadows.

To change the view mode:

Right click on 3D view, and from context menu select Properties,- this activates the 3D View properties dialog.
Select the Appearance tab.

In this dialog you will find Mode with drop down list of display modes. Select Presentation and click OK and shadows will appear.

The same Display mode tool is also founf in the 3D Functions Ribbon, in the General Group

In sun position, I have set the location, date and time, but I do not view the sun' shadows.
