Importing SketchUp files is also very easy. You can use the free Blender ( www.blender.org ) to import the Sketchip .dae file and save it as a .3ds file. Blender itself is a sophisticated bit of software, but its powerful and free. It is however simple to use just for sketchup (.dae) to .3ds conversion.

To achieve this you will need Sketchup (free) and Blender (free) and Visual Building Pro (or higher)

1. If you have a .skp file the load it into Sketchup and save as .dae
Export - 3D Model

2. In Blender load the .skp file and export as .3ds file
File - Import - Collada file

3. In Visual Building Pro use Visual Buildings 3D Converter tool (available in Professional version and upwards) to import the .3ds object. You can now save this as a .cyg object file into your catalog and use in Visual Building.

Many objects in Sketchup may not be scaled incorrectly so you will need to set the scale during the conversion process or edit the object size after placing it in Visual Building.

I just saw your excellent video explaining how to export to Google Earth via Sketchup but how can I import Sketchup object building into Visual Building.
