Re: 2D elevations 04 Dec 2011 15:02 #96

I have just opened one of the sample projects and found the hidden line removal box, elevation created. Now for my own project (what's left of it)

Hi, thanks for the swift reply. I have tried this but ended up with a very confused looking section as if viewing a wire frame end on, I had none of the window detail just the openings.

I know this is operator error (me) rather than a failing in the software.

With the couple of evenings I've invested so far, I'm convinced that this is a useful tool.

I also approve of the lack of music in the tutorial videos, the are simple concise and clear. Thank you.

I assume that to produce an elevation I need to look at which elements are being displayed. I'll keep trying.

The 2D side elevation views are created using the New Section tool in the Views toolbar. This is the same tool that you use for cross section views, but instead of placing the cut line through the building , you can place the cut line in front of the building to create a new view containg the 2D side elevation view.

2D elevations 04 Dec 2011 13:56 #93

Hi, I'm on the last day of a trial download. I have no experience of this type of software but have found my way without too much difficulty. I have a planning application to prepare and have managed to produce some convincing floor plans. What I have not yet been able to do is to produce a 2D elevation.

Having entered the details of window heights etc I'd rather not draw the elevations by hand.

Please help.
