You can disable the North Pointer in each view using the Visiblity dialog (Right click in the view) - de-selecting Help elements -North arrow. Each view has its own independent Visibility settings.

Thank you.

When you say turn off the north point I guess you mean delete it? Then the imported north point is just a symbol without the function of the one turned off or deleted?

You can find the standard north pointer as a 2D symbol in the Catalogue in the 2D Symbols/symbols folder.

1. Drag it into your project from the catalogue.

2. Double cklick on it and you will see the default size is 0.75m x 0.75

3. Change the size to what you want

4. Right click on symbol and select Save selected object as 2D Symbol

This will not replace the default North Pointer which you need to switch off and drag in your new pointer from the catalogue.

The default north pointer is in fact a 3D object that lives in:

C:Program Files (x86)\Visual Building Premium 4\Program \Data

You can also change the size of this object and save it in similar way using the Export as 3D Object (from the 3D View)

Applicable to all versions of Visual Building

Thanks, how can the current one be resized to suit the 2d view being created. I am creating 2d survey view 1:100 and the symbol is too small.

Yes the north arrow is just a 2D symbol generated from a 3D object and so you can easily create your own. It is a 3D object because it is also visible in the 3d view.

Copy to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Building Basic 4\Graphics2D\Symbole

Replace file called Nordpfeil_1.cys
