Pitch roof to flat roof 08 Aug 2015 13:05 #2302

Yes.....

1. Create your pitched roof as normal

2. Create an Subtraction solid object to remove the roof part you do not need

3. Hide the Subtraction solid block

4. Use the Extrude solid tool to create a block that fills the new void, giving you a new flat roof.

5. Resize and lower the new flat roof into position

6. Create your roof canopy as a seperate project, save it as a 3D object and load into main project. I cheated and saved this example as a 3D object, loaded it in and resized it and placed on flat roof.

7. Create elevation view and adjust roof and roof canopy as required.

8. To complete, you can add hole in flat roof using the extrude solid tool again.
