1. I suspect you are placing the surface area polgon within the 2D view.
You will notice that the first step in placing such a polygon is to select the plane, and this can only be done in the 3D view. After selecting the plane in the 3D view, you can then define the polygon shape in the 2D elevation view. The tool then displays the polygon shape correctly. 2. You can use the colour bleeding tool, which is a linear gradient tool that allows you to define the start and end colours for a shadow. Use grey and transparent. |

1. I have a 2D elevation view upon which I am placing polygons using the Surface Area tool. During this process the surface are shape is the mirror image to that which I have drawn. On filling the surface area with my own hatching, it is placed correctly. So only the preview shape in the Surface area tool is incorrect.
2. Can I add shadows to the same 2D view. I appreciate that the are shadows in the 3D views, but would like to improve my 2D elevation drawing with shadows. Darren via email |
