Save an image of the 3D view using the Save View as picture (in the Views Toolbar). You can then import this image of the 3D view file into the 2D view using the 2D Graphic - Insert bitmap tool.

You can then re size / move the 3D image in the 2D view. If you create a new layer, you can then move the image to the new layer, which is then easy to hide / show as you wish.

Can you put 3D drawings onto the plan layout or just 2D. If so how can this be done?
