Extrude Solid Re-dimension 24 Aug 2013 23:27 #913

I few odd things seem to be happening in the 3D Extrude solid facility.

I have no problem creating an extruded solid, but when I need to modify an existing object there are a couple of issues.

When changing the dimensions of a solid by scaling the figures are displayed as physical measurement, but re-scaling is treated as a percentage. Also in scaling the last value entered is retained instead of scaling from 1 each time.

When cutting a solid at a plane how do you control which section is kept and which section is removed?

If I choose to change the dimensions of a object I have previously rotated, the x,y,z dimensions become confused.
i.e. rotate a rectangular solid 90deg in the z plane. Access the dimensions in the Extrude Solid dialog. The Dimemsions are displayed in the original x,y,x arrangement even thought x and y are now reversed. But if you edit x or y this is treated as a scaling of the original and not a new dimension.
i.e. a solid 100x20 x y rotated 90 deg dimension in x should now be 20 but is actually 100. Change the dimension 100 to 50 results in the 20 being rescaled to 10.

I can accommodate for these idiosyncrasies but I though you should know.
