The project scale can be changed at any time to suit the paper size that you wish to output to. To change scale select the 2D view, right click and select properties, where you can change your scale.

Use the page templates or create your own. Normally the first thing you do in a project is to determine the scale, which is determined by your available printer or the requirement of the drawing.

To fit multiple views onto a single sheet you need to use the Plan layout feature that is available in Visual Building Pro and upwards

Hi,

After watching your video's I'm still a little confused about altering the scale of a 2D plan prior to printing.

If I have a 2D plan how do I set it to fill an A3 size paper, then decide I need an A2 size copy.

Also how do I reduce plans at this scale to then fit four elevations onto one A3. I've seen the video that covers some of this but the exact way to adjust the final output eluded me.

Regards

After selecting Print and then selecting the page size/orientation a Print Preview page automatically appears showing what will appear on the page. I always suggest printing to pdf first.

In addition to the above is there a 'Print Preview' button to give a good idea of how it will appear on the page?

To find the scale of a drawing: If you right click in 2D Plan, then select Properties from the context menu , you will activate a dialog containing the scale. You can change the scale at any time. However your text size (in dimensions and notes) may change depending upon if you used the text's Link to scale option or not

To create a Scale bar:
You can easily draw one using the 2D Graphic tool in the What toolbar. Create horizontal and vertical guidelines. spacing the guidelines at the required distance (use numeric parallel guideline tool) and then snap filled 2D rectangles to the guidelines. You can the save the scale bar to the catalog by grouping all its parts, and then select it, and then right click on it and then from the activated context menu select Save selected 2D Objects as 2D symbol. It will then appear in your catalog in location saved.

Applicable to all versions of Visual Building.

How can I determine the scale that a 2D drawing is in?

How do I add a scale bar?
