Unfortunately there is no direct layer control associated with the guidelines. However you can create new layers and assign your guidelines to their own layer and then assign your 2D object also to its own layer. You will then see that the guidelines can be controlled a bit easier.

You could also use the 2D tool's, Polygon tool to trace the outline roof area and then fill the polygon with your pattern, including a pattern more easily drawn using Paint or similar.

Also don't forget you need only draw 1 tile, and then use the multiple copy feature to replicate it across the roof.

I'm using the 2D Graphic to colour an area but when I then use the Guideline , some are shown and others not.

When I then try and draw a line (using the guidelines) some lines are shown and others not which seem to be completely random.

The above is illustrated as I'm drawing a slate roof - I've coloured the roof grey and I need to draw the slates.

I know this can be done 3D but I wich to do this 2D.
