You can delete the dormer side walls and draw place your own walls.
An easy solution is to create the balcony / decking as a separate project, save it as an object and place it into your main project, where you require it. The example balconies in the catalogue where created in this way. The balcony was constructed using the components in the catalogue. This tool is documented in the User manual Chapter 3D Constructions. |

I can get the dormer face wall to go down to the flooring, within the project, however cannot do the same to the dormer cheeks. Ideally I want to draw walls internally lining and joining up to these said cheek walls to create separate rooms, how would I go about this.
I also, at the West face of the building, need to create a balcony, with a joisted/ decked floor at the first floor level, how would I go about creating the floor/ joist there as there is no room below. and no wall externally to attached a floor to. AT via email |

Yes you can export your project or parts of your project to Sketchup using the Export .3ds feature.
Here is a link to a roof model that I exported to Sketchup as an example: Link to 3D Warehouse |

This is exactly what I need to achieve in my next project. Would it be possible to export the attic / roof design to Sketchup. I like Sketchup and use it a lot, but with Visual Building I can now construct a complete building a lot quicker.

You can elect to not create the dormer walls:
Double click on the dormer to activate the Dormer properties dialog, In the dialogs tab, select General - Dormer walls and switch off Left wall and Right wall. Alternatively, select the dormer side walls and press Delete. Using the project that you emailed, I was able to draw additional walls in the Attic layer with or without the dormer walls being created.
Here I added some additional walls.

I've created a building, with a chalet roof and thus rooms in the attic space with dormers.
I'm trying to draw walls in this space as the 1st floor, however do not seem to be able to click into the space as the roof is there, even with the roof cladding view off, the dormer roofs are present and i cannot seem to add walls here. AT via email |
