In order to understand a problem our support staff may ask to share your screen in order to see what it is that you are doing.
In most cases we need the actual project to resolve a problem, but in some instances it is a user action or procedure that we need to check, and its the latter case where we need to see your screen.
To achieve this we use Skype. Please ensure that you have the latest version of Skype installed.
Start Visual Building / Visual Floor Planner and establish the software so to display the problem.
1. Our support person will ask your Skype name in order to contact you via Skype
2. Answer the Skype call and establish audio communication. You do not need to have a camera or use a video connection. In fact it is best only to use an audio connection to improve the response of the screen share.
3. In Skype, click on the Call menu and select Share Screens...
4. You can share your entire desktop or just the Visual Building window. Select the window to share and click on Start at the bootom of the dialog
5. Operate Visual Building / Visual Floor Planner as directed by our support staff..
6. When complete click Stop Sharing
There is no cost to connect using Skype and no additional software to install, and we like to use it as many users already have Skype installed already and its simple to use.
