There are many different beam contours / sections in the catalogue. (located in Construction elements - Profiles - Steel Profiles). With Visual Building Professional / Premium you can use the Sweep solids tool to create a beam of desired length useing the beam profiles. Alternatively you can create your own beam profile.

I need to incorporate a steel frame into part of my model for a future extension - do you have a tutorial or other support material anywhere? I have tried the places obvious to me, but I can't be sure I have looked everywhere..... ;-)

The uprights will need to be standard room height, and the floor support beams will need to span 3.5 metres and 6.6 metres.
