The first indication that walls are connected is the existence of a room label. Whenever a room is created it is automatically named: Room 1, Room 2 etc. So if there is no name in the centre of the room it is not a completed room.
In the above Room 2 and Lounge are good, but Room 3 label is not. To examine the wall connection you must move your windows, and you will notice the following: The wall is not connected. You must use the wall editing tools to join, however sometimes its just as easy to delete the wall, place a guideline and redraw the wall along the guideline: Regarding the straight walls. When placing the walls its possible that you are snapping to something other than what you intended, e.g another wall, the grid, etc - in fact you can snap to most things. I tend to switch the grid off and use placed guidelines to snap to. You can also switch off the line width so every line is a single pixel width, which also helps identify the snap point. See also: Wall editing tools This explains the wall editing tools. Applies to all versions. |

I'm trying to understand how to connect walls- I believe the tutorial is ok, however, what I don't understand is how to identify if the walls have not been connected.
I.E. when i click on a wall, what tells me it is connected or otherwise? I also note that you highlighted a wall that was not straight. I've generally used insert between 2 points or the polygon, so not aware that I've put in 'crooked' walls, how can i tell if a wall is crooked, and how can I re-draw said wall without putting in defects or unintentional steps please.
